Everyone has something to give, something to offer. Maybe we can’t all volunteer on a regular basis, or give tons of money, but we can call a friend to check in. Words of encouragement can go a long way.
For many people, Christmas isn’t just the season of giving, giving is a lifestyle; they’re givers by nature, those who don’t just give at Christmas, but all year round.
This remarkable woman began her career as a teacher, but God called her into this, and she has poured her heart and soul into it for many years. She’s a great example of Matthew’s West Song Do Something.

One of our clients brought a Christmas gift to the Pantry where I volunteer, a beautiful red mug with everything you need to make a nice warm cup of cocoa. It might not seem like much, but believe me, it matters. They’re doing what they can to acknowledge volunteers and what they’re doing, and it matters.
We had a Christmas party yesterday at Nancy’s Hope, and Nancy gave us each beautiful ornament with a reminder that we’re making a difference too and that matters. In fact, I find myself reminding Nancy that she’s making a difference — God’s used her to change lives, and believe me, she has.
Let’s get out there and do something, maybe you feel led to do something like give someone a meal, or maybe you just want to pay for someone’s coffee order. Whatever it is, if you can do it, you can help someone carry their groceries to their car, or maybe you can give someone a word of kindness, whatever it is we can all do to make the world a better place.
