The other face of racism

When you say that you are against racism, you should be aware that the racism you have stood against is not only to look down on someone who lives in the same country in which you live and differs from you in the race, rather your attitude should be to despise the act of looking down on any human being whether he/she is in your home country or elsewhere.

Racism is not only a black-and-white story, it is a complicated ideology, and it is dark enough to cover all the other races on earth.

Having seen those demonstrations goes viral in the US, I thought a little about the essential principle that all of the demonstrators are going after, are they going after a law that stops the racism in the US or just making a reaction after the poor George Floyd was killed!? I just said to myself: “No, they must have gone out to protest against the whole racist system which the US is being governed by.”. To be honest, I rethought about this conclusion and found that I was not right this time.

Is it just about the US?

We all see every day how tens of millions of poor people in the third world are facing racism or being deported from their land in the name of racism. Why ignoring these kinds of racism?

I think the true racism is to ignore people’s rights to feel equal and not to be underestimated by anyone. The true racism is to think that these people’s cases are not on our agenda or not our business.

My people, for example, were forced to immigrate under the bombs and missiles to run for their lives, and instead of finding who says welcome, a lot of them hear people say “We do not need you in our country”, “Go back to where you came from”, or “We are not going to pay taxes for the sake of you!”. Isn’t this racism? Why did not social media users react with it as a “public opinion” A lot of demonstrations against racism are also acting racism by not generalizing the principle over the kinds they do not suffer from too.

When I pretend to hate racism, I have to adopt the following slogan:

“F**K RACISM OF ALL KİNDS, F**K RACISM EVERYWHERE”.

Racism, my friends, takes many forms that do not even cross your minds, so make sure you are not racist according to all standards, not only to the standard that you drew in your imagination.
