The campaigns have been heated

The United States elections will be over soon for this year. In just a matter of days, the results should be announced. It will either be four more years of Donald Trump, or Joe Biden will be the new President who will be living in The White House in January of the new year. All those Congressional seats will be decided. We can stop writing about the elections. We will know the outcomes before long.

Since I have been on several committees trying to help Biden win the election, I have been writing about the Presidential election for weeks. It may not have done a lot of good because there have not been a lot of people reading what I have written about the campaigns. None of the articles have gone viral so the reach has been minimal. It was an attempt to help in some small way.

It wasn’t that I wanted to write bad things about Trump, but there were so many things to share from what other people said and wrote. It is exhausting to listen to all the negative things Trump says and does.

There has been so much hate during this campaign season among the candidates for the various offices and their supporters. It will be a relief to see some of that curtailed. The hate will not go away, but the constant barrage of negativity might be lessened for a period of time.

Politics brings out the worst in people. There are such strong feelings on both sides of the aisle. If those who are colleagues in Congress cannot get along peacefully, then it cannot be expected that the people on the street will be any different. Dissension is normal, but there is a lot of hate displayed also.

The past four years have seen the news consumed with hate. The name-calling and bullying have been unprecedented. Hopefully, things will change.

We should also receive far fewer junk political emails every day asking for money. That will be another plus.

Time will tell if changes will be made to make it a more civil nation.
