We Can Probably Solve The Mystery Of The Universe Now
These ancient galaxies can help us understand the origin of the universe
NASA has released the first image of the far-away galaxies which is shown above. Astronomers and cosmologists are still in awe of the image.
This is a significant step in understanding the origin of the universe. This can reshape our knowledge of how everything started. This was possible with the help of the James Webb space telescope.
According to Bill Nelson, administrator of NASA:
“We are looking back more than 13 billion years. More images to be released by the space agency would reach back further, to about 13.5 billion years, close to the estimated start point of the universe itself. We are going back almost to the beginning.”
President Joe Biden called it a historic moment. He further said:
“It’s astounding. It’s a historic moment for science and technology, for America and all of humanity.”
This telescope is the most powerful telescope we have right now. The estimated price of the telescope is about 10 billion dollars.
The telescope can detect signals from galaxies and start which are far away from use and invisible to the naked eye.
Jonathan Gardner, senior scientist at NASA said:
“Webb can see backward in time just after the big bang by looking for galaxies that are so far away, the light has taken many billions of years to get from those galaxies to ourselves.”
The bright shining things that you see are the massive stars and the round things which look like discs are the galaxies.
Kamala Harris said it is one of humanity’s great engineering achievements.
To sum up in the words of Richard Ellis, professor of astrophysics at University College London:
“As we are ourselves made of the material synthesized in stars over the past 13 billion years, James Webb has the unique ability to trace back to our own origins in this remarkable universe. Everyone can take part in this amazing adventure.”
