Friends from university days, Pat and Jill Morelli, rented a villa in Tuscany, just south of Florence. They invited us to join them for a few days. It didn’t take long to decide we would accept the invitation.

We flew into Florence yesterday and met up with other friends of university days, Trude and Rick Elliott. They had arrived in Florence a few hours before us. Once we were all together, we got to the car rental facility to get the car we had arranged for. We got out our Google map and headed south through the countryside.

An hour later we arrived. It didn’t take long for the wine and cheese to be served out on the patio with the sun setting in the distance over the hills of Tuscany. Awesome.

The villa was rented through VRBO which rents out entire houses, not just rooms. The villa has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. There is a heated pool just behind where we are sitting in the photo above. There are covered terraces both on the morning sun side and the evening sun side.

This is our very comfortable room. The view is awesome. The wine is great and we are visiting with friends I went to university with 50 years ago. Life is good. I like being a tourist.
