We Are Now Living on an Island and We didn’t Move House!

The 2022 Queensland Floods have arrived in spectacular fashion.

It’s been raining since Thursday and the tanks have been full since Friday. The dam was overflowing on Thursday night.

Floods are a yearly event in our part of the world, but this one is surprising. No one seemed to see it coming.

The catchments were already drenched from a wet Spring and Summer thanks to La Nina. Now with persistent rain from an upper Low pressure system, everything is flooding.

This morning I went and got some footage like any diligent content creator should, but I’m going to have to go and get more. It’s still raining and the waters are still rising!

Thankfully we are in a position where our house is relatively safe, but people around us have been frantically moving horses and other animals to higher ground.
