How We Can All Be Moses
Connect with the Prophet in All of Us
During troubled times, we can look outward, when the answers may lie within our inner selves. We must connect. Trying to connect with your invisible seer is a formidable task. You are a prophet. We are all prophets of a possible and intentional future.
If we connect, we draw similarities. Once we establish that we are alike and not so distant, then tangible change can occur.
A prophet is a person regarded as an inspired teacher or a proclaimer of the will of God, someone who can sense what might happen in the future. The prophets of the Bible often made predictions and offered options in behaviors that could lead to different outcomes.
Their authority was confirmed when the predictions came true, but the central part of their mission was to change the lives of their people. If we want change then we have to change our truths and adapt our idea of expectations.
Things that block change
- Fear is a great barrier to this.
- Habit is our greatest curse and gift.
- Self-Doubt and listening too intently to the Internal Critic
The most useful tool is grief.
What grief looks like
Grief starts as a jagged terrain but over time can be smoothed out like a flowing stream shapes rocks. By processing our grief, we can make a damaged existence less sharp and retool our inner conflicts.
A relationship with grief can twist you into many shapes. Its immediate reaction is a loss of hope; a loss of balance. Both are deterrents to following a structured life path. The individual becomes toughened and apathetic. This can lead to a journey of darkness, where faith vanishes, self-destruction sets in, and each step you take is as heavy as cast iron.
The heavy journey
You can plan for certainties and safety, but they don’t exist. However, by feeling these agonizing depths, something wonderful happens. You begin to realize from your first memory, that life was once enjoyable, and that cruelty was learned.
As you progressed in your journey, you were offered little warning that you were going to have things confiscated from you almost as quickly as they were gifted. Over time, you found a way through and witnessed a pattern that you were BUILT for this. There was meaning in all things if examined.
Eventually, you even grew to expect it. At the same time, you felt that you gained a life-energy, a second circle way of connection, that warmed you and others around you. You became present. Second circle can protect you from negative energy. It warns you to run away from potential harm. All of these lead to a prophetic path of engagement. There are specific attributes that are associated with being a prophet. We are ALL prophets.
Prophets are defined by the four C’s.
1.) Courage-being afraid but moving ahead anyway.
2.) Compassion-understanding not implying.
3.) Conviction-feeling a drive that you cannot put down.
4.) Commitment-allowing yourself freedom by engaging focus.
These attributes are needed now more than ever to overcome difficult times. I’m going to share something you already know. Life is always difficult, but achievable. Properly channeled grief is empowering. Taking the time to listen to the universe is helpful.
I have heard the whispers. I have seen years of shrouded self-images suddenly clear. I can look at people and have insight into what they are feeling.
What are they hiding? What is troubling them? Through my journey, I can listen to a tragic story or respond to someone who has had a great loss and merely say; I understand.
Life is cliche, but agony is not. It is personal and it rips through us relentlessly. We have nothing really, but each other. Relationships are the strongest currency. In the Bible, my name is translated as Savior. Save yourself and begin to save others. The rest is merely commerce and capitalism! Connect or perish.
