We Need You to Remember Your Magnificence

Remembering your own greatness contributes to a better world as you allow your inner strengths to shine

Have you taken the time today to remember how essential you are to this life — to your loved ones, to your community, to this human family?

Do you realize just how truly unique, wonderful, and magnificent you are? Simply just as you are. Here. Now.

Because we all tend to forget. Those pesky negative voices in our head often spring up before our conscious mind registers them. If we don’t actively place our mental attention elsewhere, they make us think we’re less capable or powerful than we really are.

STAND IN YOUR GREATNESS SO YOU CAN HELP OTHERS

Consider the impact that allowing yourself to stand in your own strength can have on the world.

It is your duty to remember your own greatness — because if you don’t, you will hold back the gifts you were meant to share with the world.

When you remember the brilliance that is naturally within you, you override those disempowering and limiting voices in our head. This is an extremely powerful key that opens the doors of possibility in your life.

When you overcome that negative inner chatter, you can get right back to radiating your awesomeness out into the world!

You all have wonderful gifts to share — trust me, I know. Fellow Medium writers, I’ve read many of your introductions and articles. I never cease to be amazed by the strength and kindness of your human spirit.

And so I ask you for help dear ones…I ask you to help make this world a better place by remembering how wonderful you are.

I feel that my soul incarnated on this earth to spread joy. To help others remember their true greatness as we all learn to shed the layers of fear and self-doubt we’ve unintentionally clothed ourselves with.

Most of our mental limitations never came from our own minds to begin with — they have been passed down in the human psyche for generations. We’ve centered our lives around survival at the expense of growth and true self-expression. Our work is to keep cutting those cords of mental limitations until we can all see our fears as the creations of our minds they have been all along.

HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP

I believe there can never be enough reminders of our greatness. Amidst the sea of fear-based content that perpetuates people’s anxiety rather than empowering them, we need to harness the power of every positive word, every act of kindness, and every compassionate thought.

So I ask you for two things:

1) Remember your magnificence daily. Be kind to yourself. Know that you matter. Make it an intentional part of your daily routine to do something that makes you realize how strong and powerful you are.

2) Help remind others of their magnificence daily. Whether directly in person through radiating your joy and being kind or whether by sharing positive words, help another realize how great they are.

Science shows how positive content benefits our mental and physical well-being. Yes, your words can literally heal!

COMPASSION OR SELF-PROMOTION? YOU DECIDE

I have to admit that I am a recovering perfectionist who has a hard time asking for help. I have always been proud of being an independent “I can do it myself” kind of woman. But this fire in my heart to help others remember their greatness is bigger than me…so here I stand humbly, sucking up my fear of being seen as “pushy” or “salesy” to ask for your help.

After spending the last year traveling and volunteering around Europe, my partner Bryan and I felt inspired to share our inner and outer journeys.

By creating a unique collection of short uplifting writings/poems and travel photos, we hope to help others remember the beauty of this life and of their own wonderful selves.

We are extremely excited about releasing our book “You Are Essential: 101 Reminders of Your Magnificence” into the world!! Our hearts know that it will bring joy and smiles to all those who read it. Therefore we want to share it with as many people as possible.

If there is anyone in your life that is essential to you, consider surprising them with this gift. But first, remind yourself of your own magnificence for all the reasons stated above.

As my friend Trista Ainsworth so beautifully shared in her recent article about Keeping Your Flames Burning:

“We must share our light with the world because there is someone out there that needs your spark in order to create their own fire.”

If you need another reminder of why your gifts matter, remember that your desire to help others is not selfish. It’s compassion in action.

Shine on you beautiful soul! Because we need you to help the rest of us remember our own light!

To my dear writer friends here on Medium — you are magnificent! Can you help me help others remember their greatness?
