Wayward Thoughts
A Poem
I try to stop you but you stray from me and disrupt the normalcy inside my brain You impress on me oddities of vision and hyperbolic thought loops that lead me down a rabbit hole of despair and longing
Wayward you go Unpredictable and untimely Fleeting and stalwart in your takeover of my psyche The visions of you that I hold so dear corrupted by scene breaks of impossibility and ineptitude
I can’t contain you Wild in nature Always free Unrepentant when you build your tiny blocks in my head so that you can return later to play with them just when I thought they were gone
You are a rogue actor and I, your receptacle always accepting of your mess because I know no other way You are so pervasive and persuasive that you know better than I do That you can stray afar and still lead me where I need to go Which according to you is directly into The Abyss
