Geetika’s “Look of Love” challenge

Waves of Desire

My look of love

Photo by Dottie Mabry on Unsplash

There’s a beach in California where we walked Hand in hand, Heart in heart. No words, just looks And sighs And pauses to embrace And taste our lips together.

We looked behind: The Pacific tasting the sand, Surging, lapping And licking towards Our shared footprints.

We looked ahead To the evening, Our hostel offering A deeper dive.

I look at you now And my fingers touch yours Yearning for more Intimate caresses.

There’s an ocean in your eyes, Surging, smiling, promising More than a glance: A dive into those depths Where we can swim And frolic together.

I look behind: The ocean on the sand, Our feet transient, But our hearts forever.

I look ahead: A lonely bed, And nothing left of you But a smudge of lipstick On the screen.

But for now, I explore your eyes with mine, I kiss the memory of your soft and salty lips. My heart thumps And I zoom with delight.

Britni
