Waterfallen

A Fractured Star ©2017 Ronald C. Flores-Gunkle

The waterfall was small And the tree devoid of odd debris, As if the storm willed me to see Its trunk and branches free. That it once was very tall,

The way the wind had made it fall, Was clear. It breached the bank, Drank deeply as it slowly sank. The water, a fractured star of minor rank, Murmured on the moss, too meek to call.
