Watching Rocky Movies as an Adult

Ten things I’ve realized from a Rocky marathon, watching as an adult:

1. Mickey was a pretty poor manager/coach.
2. Rocky got seriously ripped after Rocky 2.
3. Clubber Lang was no 238lbs, Thunderlips wasn’t 398lbs.
4. Rocky’s son grew up to be a terrible son.
5. Rocky could likely run faster if he breathed.
6. “If he dies, he dies" is an iconic line.
7. Eye of the tiger is still a great song.
8. Apollo looked more of a boxer than actual boxers.
9. Apollo didn’t age from 1-4 (10 years)
10. Rocky cut weight through to look leaner and stronger.

• Rocky I: 178 pounds.
• Rocky II: 200 pounds.
• Rocky III: 163 pounds.
• Rocky IV: 173 pounds.

This was such an iconic movie from my childhood and many others, and had impacted millions of kids and adults alike for over 40 years.

Sylvester Stallone doesn’t get enough credit for creating and recreating a narrative that lasts for eight movies.

You have had a missed childhood if you haven’t tried the workout scenes in Rocky Four, consumped raw eggs or shouted “Drago" when you reached the top of a hill.

2. Rocky Balboa
3. Creed
