Summary

The article emphasizes the importance of observing and learning from one's surroundings and the experiences of others to innovate and improve upon existing ideas, products, and strategies.

Abstract

The author of the article, a young CEO and entrepreneur, advocates for the continuous learning process by observing the successes and failures in one's environment. Drawing from personal experience and the examples of successful entrepreneurs like Mark Zuckerberg, the article suggests that innovation is not just about creating something entirely new but also about enhancing existing products and strategies based on what has been proven to work. It encourages readers to be aware of their surroundings, to take calculated risks, and to apply the knowledge gained from the actions of others to their own ventures, which can lead to better startups and personal growth. The piece also touches on the educational system's shortcomings in preparing the millennial generation for the opportunities available to them.

Opinions

  • Observing and learning from the successes and failures around us is crucial for personal and professional development.
  • Successful entrepreneurs, like Mark Zuckerberg, often build upon existing ideas by introducing innovations that resonate with users.
  • Entrepreneurs are defined not just by their ability to create and innovate but also by their capacity to learn from others to enhance their products.
  • Taking risks is necessary, but it should be done with a thorough understanding of what has previously succeeded or failed.
  • The educational system may not adequately equip young individuals with the knowledge of available opportunities, necessitating self-driven learning and observation.
  • Humans are inherently meant to help each other, and even in the absence of direct assistance, one can learn a great deal by simply observing others.

Watch your surroundings while you in training wheels

Do you ever bother looking around what’s going on in your surroundings?

Medium articles, news headlines, books at most times have adventurous background content.Well I mean if you read the books I read.

As a CEO of Documented Press I like to learn from so many other people before I execute something on my own.

One thing I learned myself as im working towards becoming a serial entrepreneur is to always learn from what’s going on around you before you go and do your own thing.

You would want to go to war and use a technique that didn’t work in the Cold War. Or would you?

I know we both would like to use any other strategy/technique that someone else tried and gained their successions.

Now there are times where we have to take risks on our own and make our own choices and even at those times we have to revise first what worked and what didn’t work before advancing forward this is what leads towards better startups.

As I learned for myself entrepreneurs ~ are people that build and innovate. A successful entrepreneur learn from others to continue bettering their product.

Take for example Mark Zuckerberg he opened Facebook awhile back and Snapchat just joined the market not long ago but it have brought something new to use that we enjoy. Stories! Now Mark have seen how many users from Snap Inc. enjoyed posting on their stories then he thought about adding it to Facebook and Instagram.

As a software developer, engineer, small business owner and as the list goes on we all need to know whatever we do we must enhance what has been already published to the market.

But, sometimes its not our faults because the school systems are broken and the melinnial generation are not aware about the opportunties that lay around.

[ psst* If you haven’t read “Dear elementary students and high school freshman … pursue your dreams now” its available and now with the audio]

Just by looking what’s been going on around me both collecting the pros and cons of people actions I have learned a lot and I have applied so much.

Humans were created to help each other and live happily and if no one wants to help you just watch what they do and learn from it.
