Watch out YouTube TikTok Is Rolling Out 15-minute Videos

You know very well TikTok is a popular app. Also, it has caused fears with supposedly China eavesdropping and harvesting user data. In addition, the app has been banned on federal devices in the United States (U.S.).
As confirmed by a Mashable report, the Chinese-based app is testing 15-minute videos. Why? Probably to compete directly with Google’s gold mine YouTube.

As shown above, Matt Navarra shared a post confirming TikTok’s intent to allow certain users to “Upload videos up to 15 minutes long!”
Since its explosion during the start of the pandemic, TikTok has added more and more time to recording videos. Currently, you have the ability to record videos with the following lengths:
- 15 seconds
- 1 minute
- 10 minutes
- 15 minutes (with this newest TikTok update)

Verdict
The future is uncertain with this rollout. Nevertheless, TikTok is doing everything to be on good terms with the U.S. government. This is especially true with the reports that the Chinese government was accessing user data without authorization, which TikTok’s CEO has testified denied in front of congress.
Finally, TikTok is directly challenging YouTube. Will the 15 -minute length survive? It will all depend on how successful this feature with users.
