Was It Love At First Sight?

Or just pure lust…a need that only he could fulfill? I’ll let you be the judge.

From the moment I set eyes on him, I could see he had potential, not necessarily intellectual potential, but promise nonetheless.

Not the best build, to be honest…heavy around the middle, it was clear I’d have to keep an eye on his diet, to protect his innards.

I wasn’t sold on his name, but I could live with it. Felix…a name normally given to a cat!

But there were aspects of his personality that worked for me.

For instance, when he started on a job, he saw it through to the end with a diligence that was eye-watering!

He was totally in focus and determined to see things through to HIS satisfaction…though not necessarily to mine.

In fact, it was never about me. I tried to guide him on days when time was not on my side. But because time was always on HIS side, he turned a deaf ear to my pleas.

What allowed me to forgive the one-track personality he had been blessed with, was that his work ethic was second to none.

Was this love at first sight? Or was he simply fulfilling a need?

Come on! Nobody believes in love at first glance…or do they?

And yet, though it’s been such a short time, and though his body will always be a little unattractive, I think I have found my soulmate.

I will always be amazed that such a stunted, fat, ethical practitioner, has just walked into my life, and set up home in the corner of my heart.
