Warning: Words and Vibrations ahead Proceed with Caution

I have this dear friend. When we met I could sense that there was something radically bothering them. They were positive around me. They came across as very confident. They walked the walk, they talked the talk. But their essence screamed “fake it until you make it”. I gave some hints that I thought something was bothering them. I could tell that their guard was never lowered. Everything through laughter and play was one hundred percent defense shields on.

I know what many are thinking. The thought was that I was not the one that was trusted. I did not think and still do not think that was the case. We meshed instantly. Not that we were finishing each other’s sentences. But I felt instantly comfortable with them and they felt the same with me. Words can’t be trusted when people are hiding behind the perfect or no response. Actions can’t be trusted when you can sense they are not the free actions that you sense the person normally has. Over time, this person has grown and, like all of us, is a work in progress, but is learning to let things go. Sharing and healing.

I give this example knowing that others have felt the same with people in their lives. People can feel empathic people. They must be able to or strangers and acquaintances would not keep finding me. I would not have interacted with some many people throughout my teaching career and life. People have to be ready to open up, though. I know it might sound strange but many people would rather open up to a stranger than a trusted friend. The stranger they will likely never see again. They can share intimate things in virtual safety. They key is they sense that the person can make them feel better.

I have another example. There are many people now in our little community. I have said before that I read every post that is published in Know Thyself. Why is it that we have favorite authors? There can be two authors that write similar stories. Why is it that some end up like JRR Tolkien and others struggle to get read? I ask this because I have often wondered. I sometimes search for new authors to read. I look in the same genre and similar stories lines. Some resonate with me, some do not. These people I have never met but like all of you, I feel closer to some authors here in Know Thyself than others. I am sure that all of you feel the same. Some might find my posts interesting, understandable, and informative. Others may find me dry and boring (well I know some of my students did, so I am sure some of you feel the same).

We all have an energy that goes into our writing. That energy comes out when people read it. I FEEL many of the authors here in Know Thyself. I need to have a cloth handy when I see some people’s new post because I know I will be in tears before finishing it. That, my friends, is energy…And not even in person.

People give off energy like the prompt says. We all know people in our lives that are the holder of secrets. That is a valuable person to have in your life. If you are one that is able to keep secrets you will be sought out. You will be the sacred keeper of many important and personal things. You give out the energy vibrations that it is safe as in the vault of a bank. It might be safer, banks get robbed.

You don’t have to be an empath to know someone is not giving you the entire story or is flat out lying. They may even be lying to themselves. Words are the easiest to hide behind. We all know people that tell you that you can count on them. They tell you they will be there. They tell you that all those other times something came up. They promise. You of course know they won’t be there. You know if they are, your greeting will be sincere surprise with a genuine smile.

Actions then follow. Let’s say that person shows up. They are there, but are they? They are checking their phone, not talking, not listening, and there in physical space only. They might even tell you they are there. You know they are not. Actions show. Actions show in attitude and passive aggression also. I am a fan of sarcasm. There are two kinds of sarcasm, one both of you know is just for fun and the other a weapon wielded like the sharpest samurai sword. Cuts so clean you bleed to death before you feel them. I would rather actions follow words and if they don’t wish to be there or be part of your life to just say that and deal with the loss.

Energy wise, now that is different. I have had some of the most wonderful times with amazing people that I knew well or didn’t because both or all of us wanted to be there. It might not being doing anything but the time is wondrous. If the energy is right you can be sitting and talking and hours can disappear. If the energy is right you don’t have to be doing something special. You can be and it will be that much better. I can feel people like that. I can get an idea very quickly if a chat is going to last. If they have energy to share I am all in. If they need my energy I am all in. Until I am drained and even after if I am having fun, I am all in.
