A poem of gratitude for my loved ones…

Photo by Katie Azi on Unsplash

Warm arms embrace me like a favorite jumper, A kiss on the cheek from the lips of my daughter, Send waves of gratitude through my soul.

Supportive words wrap around me like a soft blanket, Keeping out the cold nip of anxiety and sadness. My husband’s blue-eyed gaze was like an angel’s blessing, Reminding me what I’m thankful for.

My mother’s fierce protectiveness like a lion guarding their cub, Part of a pride, belonging somewhere. I’m grateful I always have a hand to hold, A warm touch to remind me I’m never alone.

It’s like being offered a hot chocolate when it’s Artic outside, The constant reminder that everything will be alright.
