I can only imagine having a peaceful sleep with absence of scary voices in my head, with absence of terrorizing sounds the drone-strike makes in air, with absence of piercing screams of children, women and men in my neighborhood,

I can only imagine having a blissful morning welcomed by the dazzling sunshine otherwise concealed by the smoke of dark-night missiles, greeting neighbors otherwise their ashes with ear to ear smiles,

I can only imagine breathing in the air of freedom when in reality I’m a prisoner of wardom,

I can only imagine having basic necessities that you have at ease,

I can only imagine I’m safe from man’s drone...

I wrote this poetry inspired by a modified version of one of many interesting prompts by Justin Deming @ The Friday Fix publication.

I randomly selected a novel which happened to be Patricia Cornwell’s From Potter’s Field, then randomly selected a page number that was 74 and the line one — Voila! Got the writing prompt
