Want to Grow Your LinkedIn Network Organically? Do This Every Saturday
A sure-fire way to gain followers and connections who engage
I’ve had a LinkedIn account for as long as I can remember, but I didn’t know the power of the platform until a few months ago.
I’m starting a writing business and as part of my pre-launch, I wanted to grow my professional connections.
Enter LinkedIn.
I’ll be honest: until recently, I never got much out of LinkedIn. It felt a bit stuffy.
Now, I can’t wait to hop on and peek at my notifications. I’m having a lot of fun and learning a ton along the way.
So what did I do to gain followers easily and organically? Ones who want to engage, learn, and add value?
I participate in #socialsaturday with the #socialsaturdaysquad.
And I’m going to tell you exactly how you can join our party.
Step #1 — Follow the Social Saturday Squad biz page.
Hop on LinkedIn and follow this group:
Step #2 — Follow Victoria, who created this amazing networking opportunity so you can see her post every Saturday.
After following the group page, follow Victoria so you’ll get her call to action post every Saturday.
Also look out for her #victalks posts which are insightful, honest, and authentic.
I asked Victoria to tell me a bit about starting the Squad. Here’s what she said:

Step #3 — Comment on Victoria’s and/or Social Saturday Squad’s call to action post.
When you see Victoria’s and/or the Social Saturday Squad’s post, comment that you are open to connecting and give a short bio or list what you post about.
Those who are interested in connecting will either give you a follow or send a request.
The snowball will start pretty quickly, so be prepared to gain a lot of activity, even if it is your first time participating.
After you post your comment, engage with the rest of the comment thread!
Find more people in your niché or industry. Ask them to connect or give them follow!
Add value by sharing a cool experience or telling people what you love most about the work you do.
As people start to get notifications of your comments and likes on their posts, they may take a peek at your profile, send a message on something you both connect with, or simply engage with your future posts.
It’s a true win-win.
Step #4 — Follow these two hashtags.
#socialsaturdaysquad and #socialsaturday.
Step #5 — Engage, engage, engage!
Social Saturday is not about mindlessly adding connections you will never talk to again.
The squad is all about authentic engagement, growth, learning, and networking.
There is an energy in this group that is positive, inspiring, and fun!
I’ve learned a lot and gotten the benefit of more eyes on my posts, articles, and musings.
Keep engaging with the comment threads and with the posts that include the #socialsaturday and #socialsaturdaysquad hashtags.
The cumulative effect is contagious and you’ll start to experience true organic growth.
Step #6 — Sit back and watch your network grow organically.
Once you participate in #socialsaturday, your account will gain traction and grow on its own.
It truly shows the magic of the internet (and algorithms).
