Want to Build a Sustainable (and Practical) Blogging Habit?
“Do the small things before you can do the big ones.” ~Maya Angelou
Regular blogging can feel overwhelming, but you appreciate systems if you’re like me. Adopting healthy habits are systems that help us crush goals.
But sustainable habits are only as good as the ones we keep and follow, so I recommend starting small.
Here is a quick tip to help you build a sustainable blogging habit:
Here’s how to get started with a sustainable (and practical) blogging habit:
To begin, write down 3–5 blogging goals.
For example:
- Write daily
- Publish one new blog post each month
- Regularly engage with fans + followers on social media
For each of your blogging goals, what’s one small task you can do to get them done?
If one of your goals is to write daily, you could decide which day you will write.
By making that one decision, you’re closer to accomplishing your goal!
Next, make a plan.
Decide how long you’ll write on your chosen day, and set up a calendar reminder to help you stick to the appointment with yourself.
Remember, don’t discount these small steps because you have to start somewhere. Every small step gets you closer to your goal. Why run the risk of getting overwhelmed by tackling too much at once?
