Walking In My Shoes

Poem

Walking in my shoes, one step at a time, Looking at the world, through kaleidoscope eyes, Shadows in the dark, a midsummer night, Feeling like a kid, catching fireflies.

I’ve been bullied and ignored, Wonder what I worried for, I can see there’s no place to hide, I can see through all the noise and the lies.

Walking in my shoes, right after the storm, Looking at my world, all broken and torn, Lifting my arms, swimming back to the shore, Building a bridge, stronger than before.

I’ve been angry, and in turn, Gotten even, gotten burned, I can see there’s no place to hide. I can see through all the noise and the lies.

Do what you love, love what you do, Be yourself.

Don’t let nobody tell you, You can’t sing the blues, Don’t let nobody tell you, You can’t touch the moon.

The sun is out, a brand new dawn, Iridescent and warm, not a cloud in the sky.

Today, the sun has no place to hide, and can see through all the pollution and the lies, and watch me Walking in my shoes, One step at a time.
