Waking Up to Shakti

A random curiosity

Ever had that feeling when you wake up and your heart’s just bursting with this crazy energy and love, but you can’t even put it into words? I mean, where does that even come from, right? All I know is I want more of it.

It’s like this thing between dreaming and waking up. Can’t even remember the dream, but there’s this awesome feeling lingering, like waking up to a beautiful sunrise or a sky so blue it hits you right in the feels. But who knows, it could be something else altogether. Mystery vibes, but it’s there, you know? Then I read about Shakti, randomly. The kind of randomness that unexpectedly grabs your attention. Or it was spirit nudging me to satisfy my curiosity so it answered my question. I love it when this happens.

Shakti is the divine energy within us all. According to Yogapedia, Shakti is the Hindu goddess responsible for creation and all dynamic forces in the universe. She is also called The Great Divine Mother or The Universal Mother. In Tantra yoga and meditation, yogis contemplate Goddess Shakti to understand and access the Shakti energy, power, and creativity in themselves and the universe. This allows one to view their powers as expressions of the universe rather than the ego.

With that thought, I went about my day paying more attention to more randomness. Just remain open to the mystery. Nothing mysterious that day, yet the feeling carried me through. I was pulled for an oceanside walk where I enjoyed myself watching paragliders. It was a beautiful afternoon.

And you know what? It’s that randomness that’s the real mystery. I spotted this almost golden leaf floating away while the wind picked up. I opted for a gentle stroll, not wanting to worsen the cough I’d caught last week. The clouds shaped themselves in the most beautiful backdrop. I had the pleasure of petting a charming Maltese named Jonah and even playfully teased a group of pigeons and seagulls to snap a good shot.

The atmosphere was generally lovely. People were smiling. I felt like joining in with a busker’s song but my voice disappeared in my sore throat. Perhaps life is supposed to be mysterious that always flirts with our curiosity. It’s in these unscripted interludes where the magic happens, where the ordinary transforms into the extraordinary. Some of the most profound discoveries and awakenings happen when we dare to question and explore following the crumbs dropped by the universe.

Grateful for randomness and a Shakti experience.
