Waking up early has its perks.

This morning, I walked the trail as the sun lifted its lazy head over the horizon. In a lemon-yellow sunflower, something is curled up amongst the petals: bees. Three of them cozied up in yesterday’s meal.

Smiling, I photograph these adorable, little pollinators, careful not to disturb their slumber. At home, I Google this fascinating find and learn male bees often don’t live in nests; they hunker down in flowers, instead. Thrilled, I vow to wake earlier, more often.

Other benefits of early rising include:

  • Better sleep
  • Increased energy and productivity
  • More me-time to make serendipitous discoveries
  • Healthier mind and body

I’m making a pact with myself to seize my mornings, what about you?
