SHADES OF DAILY PURPLE

Waking The Purple Heart

Grooving into Monday

It’s hard to say which day of the week has had more songs written about it, but Monday always seems to be about the Blues and a fair bit of rain.

And, though Blues music is often about despair and loss, it can also be equally likened to a message of hope.

In 1947, T-Bone Walker wrote and recorded our feature song. This tune would go on to influence some of the greatest Blues artists in history and covered by most of them.

One young man heard this song when he was only 22, and it spurred him on to become perhaps the most beloved Bluesman of them all. So, let’s take a slow groove into a purple Monday morning with the best there is.

BB is King

I hope you enjoyed that as much as I do. Of course, what would this day of the week be without this favourite from the classic rock/folk era?

Here’s your Monday bonus track with some of the best harmonies ever heard. The message remains pretty much the same.

Thanks to Claire Kelly and the Purple Moon team.
