Voyage of Life
We are the Captains of Our Ships
Tuesday’s Prompt: I am the captain, ship and navigator of it all

On the voyage called life, we are afforded a vessel to navigate the journey. As we enter the ocean of possibility, we hope that we are granted smooth sailing seas, and our goal is to keep our vessels sound and solid as we travel. While traveling the voyage of life, we will be faced with many storms. We can’t control those storms, but what we can do is pivot when those winds and waves become too powerful. After all, the ultimate goal is to get to our final destination.
At the beginning of the voyage of life, we are inexperienced sailors therefore, we will make many mistakes. We will be faced with many tumultuous storms and the ocean will get rough and chaotic. During those storms, we might lose a sail or parts of our vessels might sink into the abyss of the ocean. Not all hope is lost, as there are ways to properly maneuver through these storms.
There are 3 key ways to conquer those storms to guarantee that we have successful voyages: awareness, knowledge, and determination.
What do you mean you ask? Well, if you aware of the storms of life, you will be better equipped to maneuver through the chaos. You become equipped by gaining the necessary knowledge to battle the storms. Once you have gained the knowledge, you have to be consistent and apply what you have learned. Does that make sense? Ok, let me explain further.
With awareness and knowledge of the ocean, the voyage of life becomes ours to conquer. See, we are the captains of our vessels, and we can navigate our ships through the journey as we desire. We can ride the waves, change our sails, and at times we have to know when to let go and surrender to some of those storms, understanding that we can’t control every aspect of the journey.
The voyage of life is here to teach us to become better sailors and to become skilled captains of our ships. As we embark upon each journey, we should aim to improve our navigation skills by gaining the most life experiences. With those experiences, we will be better equipped to maneuver through the journey. Though the ocean is vast and unpredictable, we possess the keys (awareness, knowledge, and determination) to get to our destinations safely. We are the captain, the ship, and navigator of it all.

Thank you all for reading. And thank you Diana C. for creating the space so that we all can revisit stages in our lives, tell our stories, grow, and heal. KTHT has been a rollercoaster, one that I don’t mind riding.
