Voiceless Night
Momentary meetings of distant love — a sonnet.
How magical your hand entwined in mine As lazily we walk ‘neath city lights Soft hush as couples do rush home to dine Footsteps echoed faintly through voiceless nights
Then you do turn to me and with a smile Tug gently on my hand to change our way Low whispers in my ear, please stay awhile Your hands slide to my hips and there we sway
Though perfect night must end before too long Hearts swell with joyful contentment this eve’ We so relinquish time to heartbeat’s song As lovers eyes do heat, bodies intwine
Oh love, one day we’ll speak no more goodbyes Gifted a life gazing into your eyes
