Viva La Cell Phone!
Rotary is dead
An old woman friend of mine (I am also old) and I were talking the other day about still having to think about making long distance calls. It no longer matters. Cell phones just are. We pay the same for next door as across the country. We no longer have to think, “Do I really need to talk to her enough to pay for this long distance call?” For those of you young enough not to know, calls outside our local area used to be a higher charge than local. Now if we have a number from Florida and use it in New Mexico to call Maine, it just doesn’t matter, same cost. Once in awhile, though, we still find ourselves thinking, “Do I really need to make this long distance call?….”
