For hands-on coin data visualization, analysis, and comparison
Visualize and analyze cryptocurrencies in full detail online
View historical prices and market caps with full control of time ranges, plotting data in linear or log scale, raw data or normalized to the last date or as daily differences or coefficients of variation, even smoothing over time. Compare pairs of coins, too, and ask for custom versions of the app suited to your needs.

That said, have fun and do get in touch for questions or suggestions!
Getting a grasp on data is essential to facilitate learning of new subjects, inform decisions, etc. The crypto world is no different.
I recently published this article which presented a draft web app for cryptocurrency data retrieval, visualization, and analysis, all online. Rather than on a specific full web app, the article was actually focused on the components I had to assemble to make it work:
But of course, people came right away to ask for ready apps they could use, not caring much about the code but on actually getting to see crypto data with full control. So I set myself to work on this new project during my free time.
Fortunately, for my previous article I had already thought about all the elements and I had even written pieces of code and a draft app. So I could quickly come up with a first version of the app that so many people awaits:
A web app to visualize and analyze cryptocurrencies, even compare pairs of coins, in full detail
With this web app you can view historical prices and market caps, and even do some analyses right there online. As of March 2022, these are the main features of the first version:
- 27 cryptocurrencies, focusing on those available in SwissBorg (Cyborg @SwissBorg) including BTC, ETH, BAT, CHSB, USDC, BNB, etc. The list is easily extendable to more currencies, on your request.

- Full control of time ranges -i.e. not limited to “last 24 hs”, “last 7 days”, year-to-date, etc. but rather allowing you to input the exact time range of interest. With daily data for time spans larger than 1 month and daily or hourly data for shorter time spans.

- Prices or market capitalization available (no OHLC for the moment).
- Plots in linear or log scale, the latter critical to better detect global trends.

- Data optionally normalized to the last date displayed.

- Data can also be displayed as daily (or hourly) differences, optionally as % change, or as coefficients of variation over defined time spans.

- Average smoothing over defined time spans, useful to highlight trends over time.
- The various data processing options above can be concatenated, enabling things such as, for example, averaging daily differences.

- The correlation coefficient between pairs of displayed data (i.e. adapted to how the data was processed and to the exact time range displayed) is updated in real-time. Future versions will include more integrated analyses. For example, other metrics to compare pairs of coins or data processing to analyze trends in single coins are feasible.
- The app requires no installs and runs on smartphones, tablets and computers, but the layout and interface are optimized for laptops.
Without any installs, but with the obvious disclaimer and terms of use
The tool I’m presenting here works entirely as a web page, so you don’t need to install anything and any updates to your version will be immediate.
I do have of course some disclaimers and terms of use, regardless of whether you are using a free or non-free version. Most importantly, the following point applies to both the web app and this very article:
Neither the app nor this article constitutes financial advice. I am not liable for problems, errors or bugs in the program or the data and graphics it provides, in any of its forms. And of course, I am not liable for any misuse of the app, the data and plots provided by it, or economic losses you might incur in as a result of operating the app.
Demo version one click away
For a demo version you can go to this page, scroll down to “Free test app” and then click “Login here with free test account” (you won’t really need any account).
The demo version is limited to a few (the most important) coins and only some of the options described above, so that you can test the app.
Full version one email away
Also in this page but under “The Ultimate Crypto Web App — Full App”, you can login to the current version of the full app, with all the coins and commands I presented here. You’ll need a password from me for this.
To get access to the full app, contact me here and I will send you a personalized password (please don’t share it or I will suspend the account). When you write asking for the account, if your plan is to test some original ideas then do let me know about this, because I will be giving away some free accounts and you could be eligible.
Custom version another email away
Do contact me too to request specific coins/currencies, tools, functions or procedures that you’d like to have. I cannot promise I will implement them, not even if you have paid for access. But I will try, and sometimes I may even implement them at no cost if very simple or very interesting!
