Balboa Island
A day in Newport on Balboa Island. My first visit to this little community. We drove through the main street filled with quaint shops and restaurants, wandered through back alleys and tried a new coffeeshop. This little town has a wonderful boardwalk with water views. Nice way to spend a day, even just an afternoon. Shot on iphone and dslr. Edited with vsco.
Balboa Island through car windows.
I wanted to visit Balboa Island because I read about it in a travel magazine. Great way to find new spots and get motivated to explore.
New coffeeshop on the island, Succulent Coffee Roasters. Have a great selection of coffees, pleasant vibe, and easily accessible. A good recommend from us!
Laguna Beach
Another day out to Orange County, but we stopped for coffee beforehand in the Arts District, CoffeeHall. It’s a fun place to walk around, see street art, meet some cool people, chill. The co-working space where CoffeeHall is located has lovely art installations and a community feel. Another recommend.
Next stop, Laguna. Tried out Treasure Island beach this time, so so nice. We lucked out with parking close to the beach, the walk is not bad, the sand is perfect, and the tide pools to explore complete the perfect beach experience!
After a day at the beach, some yummy gelato certainly hits the spot! Try Gelato Paradiso :)
Festival of Arts, Pageant of the Masters
In the 2019 Pageant of the Masters, “The Time Machine” will take audiences around the globe and into the past, present and future in search of great art and amazing stories. Taking its cues from science fiction and steampunk fantasies, “The Time Machine” will be your ticket to thrills, laughter, beautiful music and extraordinary living art under the stars. Read more on the 2019 theme here. This is one of the most unique productions in the world!
We made a day of Laguna to enjoy a night at the pageant. Show up early to walk around the art fair, bring your own food and alcohol (wine and pizza for us), soak in the arts and get in the mood for a night of paintings and sculptures created by live artists!
So, Orange County. Lots to explore, lots to do.
Love,
Caroline
