Visiting The Iniquities Of Fathers Upon The Children
This is not what most people expect from a just, kind and loving God.
It is imperative that the actions of God baffle some people, hence some come to the conclusion that there is no God. To those who believe in God, there are numerous unexplained issues attributed to God, tilting their understanding or misconception of God.
But God wants to be understood because it is in understanding that there is true worship.
One such misconception is the second commandment given to Moses:
‘’For I, your God is a jealous God, visiting the iniquities of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me (those who refuse to follow His commandments).’’ Exodus 20:5
This must be worrisome for some serious thinkers, especially those who reverence God and have faith in His justice. The above quotation in Exodus 20:5 should not be taken literally, but only in the spiritual connotations.
God has never, nor will He punish a person for the sin of another. Only the person who sins shall be punished. Let us look at Ezekiel 18:20,
‘’The soul that sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the inquiry of the father, nor the father suffers for the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.’’
And similarly, in Deuteronomy 24:16, it states:
‘’The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor shall the children be put to death for the fathers, every man shall be put to death for his own sin.’’
How then do we explain the second commandment given to the people via Moses?
What Does It All Mean?
Some people want to attribute the visiting of the sins of the fathers upon the children to be physical hereditary (there’s no spiritual hereditary — all spiritual values are earned). This is not necessarily so.
It is, however, true that some children born to addicts. for instance, may suffer some birth defects, while a baby born to a mother with AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) may also have the illness. This is not what this signifies here.
Two laws govern the birth of children into this world. Children are born to their birth parents under the Law of Attraction of Homogeneous Species (Like for like), and the Law of Sowing and Reaping.
An incarnated soul will be attracted to birth parents (or their relatives) that share what the soul seeks in the particular earth-life. So a child born with AIDS is the fruits of the seeds, the incarnated child has sown in its previous earth-life, and he must now come to complete the circle, or if he still has not learnt anything, the journey continues.
No one is ever a victim of injustice or chance in the matters of God’s creation
Those who believe children are innocent only think of a single earth-life. There is numerous evidence to support repeated earth-lives. The earth is a school, that provides an appropriate platform for learning and improvement of the souls. And until a soul passes his examination, he is not deemed to be fit for the glorious home above, so he will keep coming back until finally, he can live in the luminous abode of eternal kingdoms of God.
The Knowledge Of Reincarnation Explained
Most Eastern religions believe in Reincarnation. It is the same soul, making repeated earth-lives to answer the scores or improve upon his previous mistakes toward perfection.
So a father can come again, in another body, born as the son, and can continue like that up to the fourth generation, still trying to right the wrongs of previous earth-lives. We have seen some of our son or daughter, looking exactly like our dad or mum, and doing things exactly like them.
