2 Extremes of Medium’s Algorithm:

You can go either way on Medium. Either you may go viral or become invisible. These are two extremes a writer can go through on Medium.

Most of you have experienced both of these conditions.

Being invisible is a condition that almost all writers face at the beginning of their writing journey. In the beginning, nobody notices you. Many of your well-written stories go unnoticed because you are going through an invisible period.

With your consistent effort, things began to change slowly. Your stories are stated to get views, reads, claps, and comments.

From being invisible, now you are on your way to going viral. If you persist and don’t quit your struggle. One day the system promotes you and one of your stories becomes viral. As a result, you get a lot of views, reads, claps, and responses. Your earnings rise to great heights. You feel elated. Your consistency and resilience are rewarded in the long run. You enjoy the fruits of your hard work.

But then suddenly, you may go invisible once again. You get a few views, rare reads, and no comments. Resultantly, your earning drops down considerably.

Being viral and invisible both are part of Medium’s algorithm.

The reasons still need to be clarified to me at least, why and how you go viral overnight. The only reason I can understand is your consistency and persistence.
