I’m not entirely sure how “grateful” the Austrians truly were to the Soviets or not. It’s one of the only monuments in Vienna writen in cyrillic. Also, I’m doing the current state of the monument a bit of a contextual disservice. It is not apparent in the black/white photo but the entire backdrop of the monument is now graffitied in a Ukrainian flag. I have put the color version below these. Though, from an artistic perspective I think the monochrome is the better photo. | <b>Ricoh GRiii 28mm</b></figcaption></figure><figure id="3c7a"><img src="https://cdn-images-1.readmedium.com/v2/resize:fit:800/1*qVMMm83DDzOmnmx2XRY54Q.jpeg"><figcaption></figcaption></figure><figure id="c11d"><img src="https://cdn-images-1.readmedium.com/v2/resize:fit:800/1*PUL3q4ay5qVGXkGtO1-wDg.jpeg"><figcaption>The above in color. | <b>Ricoh GRiii 28mm</b></figcaption></figure><figure id="ab23"><img src="https://cdn-images-1.readmedium.com/v2/resize:fit:800/1*i1CP8FlN8hxPSOJoIKQVoA.jpeg"><figcaption>A statue at the Belevedere Palace at sunset | <b>Ricoh GRiii 28mm</b></figcaption></figure><figure id="a633"><img src="https://cdn-images-1.readmedium.com/v2/resize:fit:800/1*CgEh3GmqCyYDvfniN6mL1w.jpeg"><fi
