Very Promising Results from MDMA (Ecstasy) Clinical Trials to Treat PTSD

Using psychedelic therapy to overcome abuse and trauma leads us towards a true free world

Healing the human trauma

Phase II trials just ended on MDMA, which has a relative known as Ecstasy in the Rave subculture. These clinical trials were unorthodox in that the medication being tested was not a new treatment.

A further novelty of these trials is that the drug being tested is a controlled substance, according to the FDA and the United States Government. The trials are for the use of MDMA assisted psychotherapy for the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

MDMA is not Ecstasy. MDMA in a clinical setting is consistent in strength and uncontaminated by other potentially harmful ingredients which may be used in the production of the party drug Ecstasy.

The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) which has been given the go-ahead by the FDA and other international regulatory agencies is the sponsor organization spearheading the research into MDMA. Phase III trials are scheduled to begin at 14–18 research sites around the country in early 2021.

Save lives? Improve lives? What we really want is $$$MONEY$$$

The original patent, filed in 1913 by Merck Pharmaceuticals, has long ago expired, which is why the drug is being made available to MAPS. There is no money to be made by private industry if MDMA is approved by the FDA, so they have no incentive to pursue this potentially life-saving, certainly life-altering treatment.

Current treatments for PTSD are the same as for depression. They don’t address the symptoms of PTSD directly. The mechanism of MDMA combined with therapy aims towards the source of the problem, looking to heal instead of just covering the symptoms as antidepressants do.

Even the most breakthrough next-level treatment for PTSD, a procedure known as stellate-ganglion-blocking (SGB), whose numbers are impressive, are no match for MDMA. Symptoms improved 12.6 points on a clinical scale measuring severity of PTSD on average after the SGB injection. That, I’m told, is clinically significant.

But, we don’t have time to care for ourselves, isn’t there another way?

One benefit for those that suffer from PTSD but are too short on time to actually process their experiences, is that you only have to stay in the doctor’s office for a 20-minute observation after the SGB injection. An MDMA guided therapy session lasts all day at 8 hours.

After which 53% of the participants no longer qualified as having PTSD according to the criteria. I’m not sure how many points that is on the PTSD instrument they used on the SGB study, but I’m sure its more than 12.

That’s supposed to be a link to an NIH article. Apparently, informing people of the latest breakthroughs in mental health care is not allowed. You can right-click and open the link in a separate tab. It’s just one method they use to make knowledge more inconvenient.

A year later and that number had risen to 67%. It appears there is something of real tangible value in MDMA assisted therapy for those who suffer from PTSD.

I understand it works, but I’ve been spoon-fed on a constant diet of fear

MDMA assisted therapy seems to work because the drug lowers inhibitions, increases feelings of security, and lowers defensiveness. It reduces anxiety allowing patients to more clearly recall past traumatic experiences without reliving them as if triggered by an obtrusive outside force. It helps with the processing of negative and painful emotions through instilling a sense of positivity helping the patient to maintain a sense of well-being during treatment.

MDMA is able to hold the patient in a state of emotional ease allowing for therapy to be more insightful and more effective as well as efficient. Treatment with antidepressants without any talk therapy only masks the symptoms and does little to heal the patient. MDMA doesn’t just treat the symptoms of PTSD, it offers us a map, a pathway towards discovering a cure.

“Cure” is an ugly word in the sociopathic upper echelons of pharmaceutical research. “Cures” don’t produce repeat customers. Cures are bad for business.

It must be expensive. If not, can we make it so?

In addition to potentially being more effective, MDMA treatment is also cheaper.

When you speak the truth, it hurts. Stop that!

While it’s great that magic mushrooms, LSD, MDMA, and the like are finally earning their place in the medical community as serious medications, I can’t help but wonder how the ignorant fearful reaction to these substances by our government delayed treatment for decades causing untold damage to veterans, caregivers, and others traumatized by life’s events to the point that they were destabilized, marginalized, and made to suffer more than necessary by a society around them that assumes and judges the best treatments available to them with no foundation in objective truth or actual care for those affected.

(Sorry for the long, 97-word sentence. I sometimes reminisce of the precision and meaning they used to provide us when we used them. I wonder how many of us can still read and comprehend them.)

What other advances, medical, technological, or otherwise have been denied to us by an ignorant culture that regularly feeds its fears and encourages misunderstanding and miscommunication among its citizens, ensuring that they are divided against each other instead of against authoritarians attempting to control them.

It’s sad that the things we are ignorant and fearful of are capable of healing while the things we embrace as part of “normal” reality, guns, racial tensions, competition for supposedly scarce resources, all harm society. Our norms are backwards. Just as money should serve people instead of the other way around, once again, we got MDMA and the benefits of psychedelic medicine wrong, for decades.

We let fearful and ignorant politicians who only seek to maintain power and control at the expense of others set the agenda, killing many Americans who could have gone on to lead healthy, productive lives.

We are quick to give our freewill, and the freewill of others, to others. We let these others determine what it is we all should choose for ourselves without even noticing that we gave our power, our self-determination away.

Would we people choose to kill thousands, contribute to civil unrest around the world to protect monied interests in oil? Or would we rather have free renewable energy forever based on the works of Buckminster Fuller and Nikolai Tesla?

I get the feeling we were dumbed-down for a reason. When we realize that, we will still be too stupid to know how we should react. Let me tell you: you should be angry, very angry. We were stripped of our God-given freewill, our natural curiosity, and the true potential of our human intellect to serve the images of fashion, popularity, oil, and oligarchy.

For how many eternities will we bicker and create war among ourselves at the subconscious manipulative suggestions and commands of those in power?

We have everything we need, now, to restructure reality, change the meaning of civilization, improving and uplifting the lives of everyone on the planet a thousand-fold.

We are told “no, we can’t, it’s too hard.” It seems it’s going to get even harder to cling to a dying inferior system that exists only to serve a wealthy few at the expense of many. The more that knowledge of what we already know spreads, the more people will wake up to our potential, and see how, systematically, that potential is being denied to us.
