Venom
A Poem

Venom A slithering green black snake Coursing through my veins Pulsating, beating edging, scheming Heart beats Pulse races Eyes flash Fist clench Momentum builds Crescendo reached Bile rises Rage peaks To destroy or build To avenge or give a reprieve To return in kind or stay the hand To escalate or take the high road The lashing tongue The raised fist The fight stance The unbridled words Weapons ready Blood boiling A haka of rage Would we prevail? Fight or flight Turmoil within To give in or leave Destruction or peace
