Van Dwellers

Can you believe people live in vans and have gotten so creative?

You can fix a van to live in with all the amenities — house batteries, toilet, and storage space. (solar panels) They make beautiful beds that fit right into a van. I have seen fold-up washer machines, battery fans, air conditioners, and heaters. Of course, there are many ways to cook, including small refrigerators or coolers. You can cook on a grill or a small gas camper stove. They also make an alcohol stove.

Wikipedia says that most people have gone this way due to high rent, eviction, or other circumstances. Divorce, getting out of jail, or substance abuse can lead to homelessness. There is a whole world of people out there to help. Here is one man and his website, but I will pick some stuff from it.

His name is Robert Wells, and he founded Rubber Tramp Rendezvous, an annual gathering of van dwellers in Quartzsite, Arizona. The Homes on Wheels Alliance help needy individuals get vehicles to live in. He fixes them up, also. He started this organization.

Bob Wells is a Youtuber and has a series of videos on how to live. https://www.cheaprliving.com

You can also find his YouTube videos by this name.

If you want to try this experience and go camping, here is a place to rent these fully stocked vans. It has cooking supplies, blankets, pillows, and everything you need for camping. https://www.gocamp.com

I have seen some pictures of these vans, and they are remarkable. Everything has a perfect place and fits nicely.

National parks and most campsites will allow you to park there. You will have to pay regular fees.
