Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act. This is also a very good quick read from a SCM perspective.
Great read from WSJ this week: https://lnkd.in/gMPb78i4. Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act. This is also a very good quick read from a SCM perspective. https://lnkd.in/gwqVhdDM. My quick take (notice how I use words like “might”):
You MIGHT have to do more than initial audits & only certifying factories & suppliers MAY not be enough. Periodic supplier audits MIGHT not be enough anymore also. You MIGHT need to audit tier 3 suppliers & beyond. You MIGHT need to visit the factories with your auditors. You MAY want to find a VERY trusted auditor in China. Also, what isn’t clear is what that documentation should include & how a decision will be made by U.S. Customs. Note also, “ALL” shipments of goods from Xinjiang will be stopped from clearing customs.
