Lately there has been a lot of buzz about the Pomodoro technique. You’d think it was just invented recently, but actually it’s been around since the late 1980’s. This time management technique was created by Francesco Cirillo and based on the idea that you can break your work into manageable chunks, which makes it easier to focus and be more productive. The name “Pomodoro” comes from the Italian word for “tomato,” which Cirillo chose because he used a tomato-shaped kitchen timer 🍅 to track his work sessions.
The Pomodoro technique is simple but effective. The basic idea is to break your work into 25-minute intervals called “Pomodoros.” After each Pomodoro, you take a short break of around 5 minutes. After four Pomodoros, you take a longer break of around 15 to 30 minutes. This cycle of work intervals and breaks is repeated until you complete your task.

3. Take a short break
When the timer goes off, take a short break of around 5 minutes. Use this time to stretch, grab a drink, eat a tomato 😉 or do anything else that helps you relax.
4. Repeat the cycle (4x)
After your break, set the timer for another 25 minutes and start working again. Repeat this cycle of 25-minute work intervals and 5-minute breaks until you’ve completed 4 Pomodoros .
5. Take a longer break
