Summary

The author presents a novel approach to preparing a frittata by flipping it upside down, drawing parallels between this culinary innovation and the refreshing experience of altering one's daily routine.

Abstract

The article introduces the concept of an "Upside Down Frittata," a creative twist on the traditional dish aimed at enhancing its visual appeal and taste. When the griller's element failed, the author was inspired to experiment with browning the base of the frittata, resulting in a visually engaging pattern of vegetables. This new method of serving the frittata upside down not only adds fun to the eating experience but also encourages the exploration of alternative cooking and serving techniques. The author reflects on the broader theme of how changing perspectives, as with the frittata, can reinvigorate daily routines, such as walking, by offering new experiences and insights.

Upside Down Frittata.

New way of looking at old favorite.

Imperfectly served but intensely interesting. My upside down Frittata. Picture by John Rose.

Must admit when griller’s element fizzled, Left with frittata without wonderful browning texture of lightly grilled cheese, Boring white, Boring eating, Started to think alternatives.

Tried heated griddle, Melted cheese, Messy and stove needed cleaning, Blow that for a joke.

Base of frittata nearest heat must be browned, Experimented today, Served in normal way then flipped over, Of course first time little messy, Practice makes delicious perfection.

Upside down shows pattern of beans carrots and tomatoes, Fun eating, Picking vegetables and, following patterns, Can’t wait until next tasty treat!

Reflection.

Repetitive habits soon get boring, Daily walks became uninteresting, Necessary for health keeps things moving, Found myself making excuses, This will never do!

One day decided to walk from end to start, Opposite direction, Everything looked different and new sights revealed that were once hidden, Thoroughly enjoyed new direction new perception.

Surveyed all my happy walks, Alternative paths now alternate routes and stops, Now many varied walks to choose from, Once more look forward to each day’s walk.

Varying walk morning or afternoon reveals different highlights and shadows, Changing patterns of wildlife behaviours.

Just needed new perspectives, Like upside down frittata.

Blessed be.
