Upon graduation, Arpit Bhanot and I had jobs lined up in Toronto – however, we were let go due to Covid lockdowns.
In 4th year, Arpit Bhanot worked with VR technology in which a person could stand in front of their phone and perform an exercise; the tech would be able to key in on their body parts to confirm the form. This helped online trainers train their virtual clients - it blew me away.
With Covid and the missing fitting room experience, eCommerce clothing returns grew 3x larger than brick and mortar.
We knew that the tech Arpit had been working on could apply to the clothing industry by helping people buy the correct clothing size online.
We also learned that SME brands struggled to get their hands on that technology.
We wanted to democratize it and help SME brands that Covid had a more considerable impact.
