“No thanks, demoness!”

You flick the catch of the closest window, and clamber out.

You can reach the gutter and clamber onto the roof. As you do, you wonder if it was wise. Where now?

You hear movement below…

You crest the ridge of the roof, then start to slide… reach for a chimney and miss, and somehow grab the gutter below. Pain shoots through your hands and shoulders as you cling on. There you dangle for a moment, then drop, landing in a thorn bush below.

Ahead, you see the door of a garden shed; high fences lie beyond.
