Automatic smile

I need to adapt my “unwind” moments these days.

Shared reset time with my girls. For that brief moment, when they aren’t wriggling or elbowing me…pure heaven.

Who would have thought a child’s elbow could pack such a painful punch?!

Luckily I have become more immune to it.

The first time, automatic responses kicked in and pushed my daughter out of the way. Lucky another automatic response kicked in and I caught her before she fell off the couch. I covered her in apologetic hugs and kisses.
