Origins of Innovation: Where Imagination Takes Root

The narrative begins with a brief we received from our client ”House of Natural Taste” an alcoholic beverage start up. The main product is a high-quality apertif, which since its launch, it has received a huge interest in the luxury hospitality industry. We had already created the name and branding, as well packaging. The new project, a minimalist packaging design for a new high-end Mountain Gin, should incorporate elements as diverse as mountains and a mascot, the the gin should be called the “The Flying Duck”. This brief provided a fertile landscape for David’s artistic exploration. As he reminisced, so been asked at the b.elevated event, what his topic will be, he said “I sought to offer a glimpse into the journey that transforms a nascent concept into a tangible creation, a journey that is as vital as the destination.”

Navigating Uncharted Territories: Expanding the Boundaries of Vision

David’s creative journey took unexpected detours as he ventured into unexplored terrain. While the client’s brief offered clear guidelines, his relentless pursuit of innovation led him to explore uncharted avenues. A pivotal turning point arrived with the evocation of a memory — an enigmatic “Pato” in Germany it is still called “WC Ente” advertisement from the early 80s. This memory provided David with a creative spark that would fuel his journey. He remembered that there was a duck which flew with a helmet. Searching through the archives of the internet, he found the advertisement from Spain and realised it wasn’t a flying duck, but a duck in a tank with a military helmet and fighting the odors of the bathroom.
