Until The Day I Met You
I didn’t know what was missing

I held on to the idea of a forever love, to the idea that someday, you’d appear. I held on to a picture in my mind, A picture of love filled with happiness and respect.
I held on to the idea you’d sweep me off my feet, Sweep out the darkness and light me up. I held on to the hope of learning to love again, To the idea of love without fear.
I held on to the idea I’d know when I met you, ours would be love at first sight. I held on to an image of an instant connection, To the idea of intensity and excitement.
I won’t wish I could turn back time, I won’t wish I’d grabbed the chance earlier, I won’t wish I’d paid more attention, I won’t wish for the past, it’s costing me the present.
