Unpopular Opinion: Has Black Lives Matter Really Helped Black People?
The truth from what I have seen while growing up in the hood.

Today we will speak about this so-called group called “Black Lives Matter”, a group that from what I have seen on TV is all about the Black people’s right to live in an equal society and not be treated like animals.
This is a great cause when you first look at it from the surface.
But once the newness wears off, you begin like I did to see things that are a bit questionable about the group.
I will list a few things here on this post so you can understand why my views on BLM are not positive, to say the least.
BLM Only Seem To Show Up When A Black Man Or Woman Is Murdered
Isn’t it suspicious that when a highly negative act like a Cop shooting a Black Man or Woman hits the news BLM tends to show up right on cue! It's like they just sit and wait until some high-profile murder hits the news. Yet, once the murder starts losing steam they quietly disappear back into the background from whence they came.
I don’t know about you, but how are they benefitting Black people if all they do is hype up a poor man's death? Shouldn’t they (BLM) have been out there from the beginning looking out for our fellow black and brown people in our neighborhoods?
Yet, living in these areas as I do never once have I seen a sign, a soup kitchen or even a jobs program from them as they continue to collect donations. Where is that money going? Is it going to the community like it's supposed to or is it going into the pockets of those who are using BLM to make themselves rich!
BLM Is Not The Next Black Panther Party Or Young Lords:
Growing up in the Bronx I remember seeing these guys all over the place in the hood. Helping out Black and Brown people with bettering themselves, starting food, shelter and job programs so that WE black and brown people can compete and maybe even become something more than what we were back then. So many programs and yet these guys were viewed and respected by many because they were seen out here in the streets trying to fix things for the better something that the Gov should be doing but was not.
Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for BLM. I have not seen them in the hood trying to help our fellow brothers and sisters get a leg up and maybe even progress to a better life. I have not seen any food or job programs while they sit in their expensive offices having meetings all day, waiting for the next high-profile murder of a black man so they can cash in on his death.
To be honest I do not think they even care for the plight of the black and brown people. I think they only care about dead presidents.
In Conclusion:
I understand that this post may rub many of you the wrong way, but the truth needs to be said, there is a reason why the saying “never judge a book by its cover” is said even to this day. We have to learn to look deeper at groups that say that they understand the plight of the downtrodden when in reality they do not. Murder continues on these streets every day and yet BLM is nowhere to be found.
If they call themselves a community and tell you they are fighting for you, where are you? I don’t see you when I don’t have any food in my refrigerator, no real job skills so I can build a better life, or help to get over my addiction to vices!
Help me learn to live positively rather than point my pistol at someone’s face so that I can live another day!
