I came upon it unexpectedly As I walked along the path The sky above was blue The water lapped the sand I paused to rest a bit

I sat beside the waters as if gazing out to sea I felt the sun above the breeze from far away brought the scent of flowers

The freshness of the day Made me stop and ponder What joys awaited this day The night fears seemed eons away I now felt only love

A love so thick I tasted it I heard it speak to me You are my beloved It is you I seek each day I am always close beside you

So, whatever you may think No matter what you do or say I will always love you As a mother loves her child Until your last day breathing

And then the love begins anew Then you will see how deeply true Is my love for you my child On that special day When you finally come my way

If only all could know How much I care for them In such an unconditional way The joy they would feel From knowing me that way

So onward you go my child But often turn to me For I will walk along in silence As I have for thee My beloved child be free
