Unable to Let Go
The Connection Burns

The coils of our connection closely wrapped peel my emotions raw.
The circuit opens.
Charged by the current I become the conduit holding a live wire unable, to open my hand and let it go. The spark runs through me burning out the softness in my heart until it exits through charred soles. The grass afire, the meadow burning black as the forest ignites feeling fear in fireballs leaping through the tops of trees.
I am renewed.

Forelsket is a Norwegian word for the euphoria experienced as you begin to fall in love. This Haiku is one of a series about emotions.
