Twelve Days of Christmas for Runners
Every runner has big dreams of what they’ll get for Christmas. Here’s a helping hand.
This version of Twelve Days of Christmas is adapted from the Christmas carol by Andrew Carter and Frederic Austin published in 1780 in the key of F Major.

By my count by the time it hits Christmas, my favorite running friends are really blessing me this Christmas. Eleven race entries, twenty-two nutrition gels, 30 tubes of anti-chafe lube, thirty-six pairs of running socks, eight magic PR pills, seven new pairs of running shoes, six levitating skills to skip over rocks and roots, five times I’ll actually remember to start my running watch, four friends to do night runs with me, three-speed buttons that will come in useful when I’m pushing cut-offs, two permanent 50% discounts to use at both of my favorite running stores in the area and an attitude of gratitude for this amazing gift of running.
I believe I’m most blessed by this attitude of gratitude. The rest of the stuff is just stuff.
Merry Christmas everybody and may all your running dreams be under the Christmas tree this year.
