Tustin Police Were Looking For Me
What happened next had me more shocked.
My heart dropped the moment I heard these words. “The Tustin police department was looking for you Zahra, here’s a letter from them.” One of the teachers said to me as I dropped my kid to attend his kindergarten class.
Those words triggered all that my OCD monster needed to start the threat of attack and crush me down. My OCD started to have the game of his life and started to hit me with these words: someone set you up, Zahra, and you are about to go down. And by the way, did you know some people are locked up in prison for no reason because of some mistakes they didn’t make?
You might be next. Brace yourself. They are coming for you.
In a shocking, trembling, all-most out of breath voice, I quietly ask the lady for what reason? She tells me, “Oh, they want to Honor well deserving family in the entire school of Beswick Elementary, and you were chosen. All of your children will be receiving gifts and a special dinner for your entire family hosted by the police department”.
I cried. I was balling in tears back to my house because I remembered something profound I read a few days ago, the Speech of My Allah, God,
“Whoever has Taqwa of Allah, He will make for him a way out and provide for him from where he does not expect, and whoever places their trust in Allah, He is sufficient for him…” (Surah Talaq 65:2–3)
And the fact I made a prayer a while ago about how cool it would be to get an honorary present from the army because I Identify myself as a spiritual soldier of God — fighting mental illness, abuse in my past, and the struggle of raising eight kids.
But I completely forgot about that prayer. Now, let’s go back to what it means the verses above ( Surah Talaq 65:2–3)
Abu Muawiyah Ismail Kamdar explains its meaning:
These are some of the most powerful verses of hope in the Qur’an. Every human is tested in regards to their trust (Tawakul) in Allah, and in these situations, those who are patient and show true God-consciousness and trust will find their problems solved in miraculous manners.
The truth of this promise in these ayaat can be seen numerous times. How many people do you know who have been tested and when proven their faith, Allah opened doors for them from such places where they did not expect?
So whenever you are going through a trial and feel the world constraining against you, remember to stay firm in your Taqwa and Tawakul and never waiver. If you do so, then you will literally witness miracles! (in sha Allah)
I’d never believed you if you would tell me that the police department wants to gift us in a million yrs. I’d say, you mean to lock us, or you are entirely out of your mind.
