Turns Out Bill Gates Is Betting On Tesla’s Stock To Fall!

Elon Musk recently trolled Bill Gates on Twitter by editing an image of him next to that of the pregnant man emoji. Below the image was the caption: In case you need to lose a boner fast.
The tweet received lots of attention. Most of it was negative.
Through the tweet, Musk was not only body shaming Gates. He was also insulting him and all the transgender men that had given birth. Plus the graphic sexual tones in the tweet were inappropriate.
Why would Musk use his massive platform to spew and spread such negativity?
It later emerged through text screenshots though that Bill Gates had invited Elon Musk to have a discussion on climate change. But Musk had turned him down because Gates had placed a long-standing half a billion-dollar short position on Tesla.
This means that Gates had put in half a billion dollars to buy Tesla at a high price in anticipation that the stock price would fall so that he could cash in on this fall.
Musk didn’t see the need to discuss climate change with Gates a person that was betting against the success of Tesla a company that was actively involved in tackling climate change.
His argument made sense.
Many people focused on the trolling because it is an attention-grabbing news headline that could keep people talking for days missing out on Gates’s huge bet against Tesla.
The trolling also attracted more attention because it came at a time when Musk’s relentless interest in acquiring Twitter was ongoing.
After acquiring the majority shareholding of Twitter, Musk has been working on a hostile takeover ever since he refused the seat on the board that had been offered to him. He placed an offer to buy the company for over $40 billion. When his offer was rejected, Musk went ahead and acquired even more funding to purchase the whole company.
This is not the first time Musk has trolled someone on his Twitter. Many have been wondering whether Musk is the right person to own and control Twitter considering his questionable behaviour on the platform in the past.
A few years back, Musk had called a British diver a “pedo guy” after he had been criticised for failing to deliver the equipment he had promised in the rescue of the Thai boys that had been stuck in a cave.
He in many instances has manipulated some crypto prices through his mentions of them on his timeline. As a person who knows the power and influence he yields over matters, he should be more careful about what he says and when to cushion everyone over the negative effects of his words.
Bill Gates’s bet against Tesla was not amusing to Musk who owns the company. That’s why he refused to meet with him to discuss climate change. And that’s also why he trolled him.
You wouldn’t be amused either if a person had placed half a billion dollars on the possible failure of your company and wanted to benefit from this failure!
You probably would also troll them too.
Stock prices are tides. They rise and fall.
That’s one reason Musk shouldn’t hold it against Gates for betting against the performance of Tesla’s stock. Tesla’s stock has risen and fallen and the reverse before benefiting many that had bet for or against these rises or falls. And Gates’s stance might not even have anything to do with Tesla’s objectives or core missions. It might be just Gates hoping to add to his billions.
But at the end of the day, it’s all business really and the games that people with lots of money play.
