Turn And Look At The Graceful Flamingos
Have you seen the majestic flamingos standing out?

A Visit to Safari Park (Sandiego)
I had gone to Sandiego (USA)for a vacation. My cousin located over there took me to the Safari Park and zoo with family.
My grandkids and hers were super excited to see the different trails like the tiger trail.
As soon as they reached there and we began to see the different trails like the Africa trail, Australia trail, and they became engrossed in the various rain forests. We saw interesting animals.
We had still not reached the tiger trail when suddenly my grandson saw the flamingos. He was so excited and wanted to run close to them and watch them.
Look at the Flamingos! They walk as though they are modeling. They move by looking right and left.
When they sit in the water they look like ducks on water lily ponds. You go near them they begin to show their grace.
The legs suddenly grow. They stand on their thin long legs and when they stand they usually stand on one leg.
Are they proud of their looks or walk or do they have an attitude?
My grandson called out! Look here there are beautiful birds. They sit on the water and they fly too. They can stand on one leg for so long.
Are they doing yoga or acrobatics? I turned around and saw pink color birds. I was sure they are flamingoes.
The pink and red colors look beautiful to us. How do the colors come? “ The pink and reddish colors of a flamingo’s feathers come from eating pigments found in algae and invertebrates.
I learned that there were 6 kinds of flamingoes. Flamingos eat larva, small insects, blue-green and red algae, mollusks, crustaceans, and small fish, according to Sea World.
Their eating habits to eat both vegetarian and meat makes them omnivores.
When a flamingo eats a diet that is high in alpha and beta. carotenoid pigments including canthaxanthin then it gets a pink or reddish feather, leg, and facial coloration
The richest sources of carotenoids are found in the algae and various invertebrates that make up the bulk of a flamingo’s diet.
Just then we saw baby flamingos. They were heavy and fluffy grey in color and not at all like the full-grown flamingos. They look nothing like the graceful flamingos at all.

Some interesting facts about flamingos

- Flamingos can only eat by turning their heads upside down as they are filter feeders. They take a long time to eat. They eat for several hours a day, holding their bent bills upside down while feeding. They keep on skimming and filtering out food from the water, and try to find tiny bits of algae, plant material, insects, brine shrimp, and other foods that make up their omnivorous diet.

To wrap up
When I looked at the majestic flamingos the first thing that came into my mind was to be like the flamingo. To be different and distinguished. To look in such a way that people turn their heads and look at you for your personality, skill, and knowledge.
Why fit in when you can stand out!
Just before we left to see the next trail we saw another group of flamingos. Oh how they love their herd
